Working a job I love and spending time with the most important people in my life should be enough, right? I don't need more than this. I don't. But I can't help thinking that something is missing. I want more. More feeling and more desire and more need. And I also can't help it that the only time I felt all of those things was one single night in college, five years ago, with the guy I had obsessed over for four years. So when Nate Croman randomly shows up in my life again and starts cornering me in bar closets...I just know I'm going to give in.

I thrive on my own and I worked really hard to gain my independence. That drive has allowed me to excel within the big tech company I work for, getting promotion after promotion. So I'm really not surprised when they ask me to go to Boston for six months to work on an important merger. Plus, there's an upside. The marketing team we're doing business with just so happens to employ my best friend from college. But when I head to his birthday dinner, I'm definitely not prepared to see Elsi Abbot.
