Lieutenant William Wolf Jackson has spent the last few years trying to make peace with his time overseas. Haunted by memories, his physical scars act as a reminder of the pain he feels within. Spending most of his time alone with his bulldog Beef and best friend Cayde, Wolf tries to live a quiet, simple life. Being the only two survivors of their entire battalion, Wolf and Cayde have a profound bond with each other.
Late one night, Wolf receives a call that rattles his existence. Now overwhelmed with old feelings of resentment toward himself, Wolf must seek justice for the man he calls brother. As he begins to pull the loose threads of the case, Wolf discovers a secret life Cayde has been living. Overcome with shame and frustration by the newfound knowledge of Cayde's past and present, Wolf continues to dive deeper into the mission that has been entrusted to him.
Finding allies from Cayde's inner circle, Wolf begins to unpack the mystery behind his friend's past and the corruption he has brought to light. Discovering breadcrumbs left for him, Wolf realizes he is the only one who can solve the case. Though, as the tapestry unravels further, Wolf begins to discover that the mission he has inherited will not only save the lives of innocent people but perhaps heal the deep scars within himself.
