Witness Stones and Reflections by Angela Verlaeckt Clark is a book of sculptures with accompanying poetry. Angela records the journey she embarks upon while sculpting her stones. It is a spiritual and personal world of visions and emotions. She feels the soul of the stone and her words breath life into them. Because abstract sculpture seems void of substance, Verlaeckt Clark's poetry helps situate the viewer giving them a point of reference. As Angela evolved from figurative sculpture into abstraction, her poetry began to describe that specific moment she moved into a work and that brief insight she senses. Her sculptures flow as beautifully as do her words.
