Whisper Accross the Mitowar

We are all taught about genetics as children going through school. We are taught that they contain the building blocks for what make us, us. They dictate our hair color, eye color, our height, and contribute so much more than we will probably ever realize. Our genetics are supposed to be strong, half of an amazing mother, half of a hard working father. Never at all did I imagine that our genetics could be the lair of monsters.
This is the story and struggle of our lives dealing with my daughter's rare genetic condition FBLX04 Mitochondrial depletion disorder. The prognosis is grim and there is no cure. In this book we take a look at how we choose hope and life over defeat. We look at the ways we can battle this demonic condition and in the end how we can win. In a battle with the Mito demon we have our three weapons Knowledge, determination, and hope. The poems in this book represent my hope and determination I have in finding a cure for my daughter.
100% of the revenue of this book will be donated to the Mitochondrial clinic at the children's hospital of Philadelphia. Why Chop? It was there doctors who discovered my daughters condition, and their labs have already made great strides in finding ways to greatly improve my daughter's life. It is in my opinion that it is through their supported efforts that a cure will be found. The initital focus will be on my daughters condition but I am hoping to make enough money to contribute to treatments for many mitochondrial diseases. With a lot of work and even more luck we can cure mitochondrial disease during our time.
