In October 2019, two women were killed in Cape Coral, Florida. Within hours, a suspect was arrested. The evidence was overwhelming. The legal system moved efficiently toward conviction and sentencing. Yet as the trial concluded, the case had transformed into something the courtroom never intended: a viral phenomenon generating millions of views, devoted fan communities, and over $86,000 in financial support for the convicted killer.

This investigation examines how a documented criminal case became digital entertainment, why platforms amplified violent content, and what happens when perpetrators achieve celebrity status while victims disappear from public memory. Drawing on court records, trial transcripts, platform behavior analysis, and research on media contagion effects, the book traces the case from crime scene to death row to viral spread.

The analysis addresses algorithmic amplification, parasocial attachment to criminals, secondary trauma experienced by victims' families, copycat violence risk, and the ethical failures of true crime as currently produced.
