War's Verdict

The first seal I opened was a mistake. The second was intentional.

I broke it to save a rider sent here to end us, something I don't regret because Pestilence is my friend. I couldn't let Raum drag his soul to hell. But now, I have to contend with another rider and an irate demon.

With Raum's whereabouts unknown, a militia looking to kill me, and War on his way, I leave camp, hoping to keep them safe. However, the storm heralding War's arrival traps me, forcing me to face the second rider. My agreement to join him is to save someone else I love.

As we travel, I realize my flippant remark to Death years before about War being "the fun one" has returned to haunt me. Something he makes clear when his focus is on exploring what humanity has to offer rather than ending it. The issue is he wants to explore these things with me.

With his attention pulled from his task, the militia builds in strength and numbers, determined to end the riders I keep protecting. When the riders return with two of their members in tow, I don't like it until War's growing fascination for Ember takes his focus off me.

With the pending battle diverting our attention, I forget about the real threat: the demon responsible for all this. When Raum finally reveals himself, he has a surprise accomplice I never saw coming.
