Trump won the election and will do the right thing by effectuating an expedited recapitalization and release of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from conservatorship. Conservatorship has largely been a vehicle of government fraud and extortion if you ask me. The government stole all their money for nothing from 2008-2021. It only stopped because Trump won the previous election and installed Steven Mnuchin and Mark Calabria to start following the law, a novel concept at the time at FHFA. Mark Calabria reportedly wandered around the office telling people they were going to follow the law when they had questions about how to make decisions. Anyway, I've been in this trade since 2014. Probably the worst time to get involved. I thought the courts would follow the law but the courts seemed to purposefully misinterpret it. In 2021, the Supreme Court took a dump on the law and the stock prices of Fannie and Freddie plummeted. I quit my job so I could raid my 401k and buy more Fannie and Freddie preferred and worked harder than ever before building a salesforce consultancy business instead of being an employee in order to make more money to buy more shares. When the prices are trading at 5% of face value for a company that is retaining earnings on shares that will be made whole in any recap and release and the agencies controlling them are now political agency, that's something you bet everything on and so I did.
