Understanding Proverbs

A "nugget" is a lump of gold or other precious metal found ready-formed in the earth. So it is with the Book of Proverbs. There are many precious "nuggets of wisdom" found in the writings of the Book of Proverbs. It is my aim to share some of these precious discoveries with you by careful reading, probing the original language, giving attention to the date and culture of the writings, and depending upon the Holy Spirit who inspired this book to give clear understanding. This book is intended to give modern man applicable answers to complicated problems of life from the authoritative Word of God. William M. Templeton has been pastoring churches for 54 years. He is married to Bonita I. Templeton and they have four grown children and eleven grandchildren. He attended VPI&SU from 1969 through 1972. He then transferred to what is now Liberty University and studied theology and pastoral studies. He has been studying the Word of God throughout his life in an effort to present the truths of the Word of God to every person with clarity and understanding.
