Understanding and Practice

The Academic Library of the Chinese National Academy of Arts: Understanding and Practice (Selected Essays on Traditional Opera and Folklore) is divided into two parts. The upper part presents the author's recent research findings on stele inscriptions of traditional opera guilds and documents related to operatic performance. From the perspectives of national language policy, changes in economic and cultural systems, the management of opera troupes, and the cataloging of operatic documents, this section meticulously examines and discusses the evolutionary patterns of Kunqu, Peking Opera, and regional operatic arts since the 18th century. It combines micro-level documentary research with fieldwork practice, with a focus on elucidating and revealing the laws governing stage art. The lower part approaches the study of traditional opera from the perspective of folk ecology. It either examines the cultural background of regional dialects and explores the relationship between folktales and beliefs; investigates the religious connotations of folk customs, faithfully recording the psychological and emotional motivations behind folk practices; or comprehensively studies the characteristics and distinctions of folk ritual theater, while also attending to the contemporary fate of operatic artistic heritage.

《中国艺术研究院学术文库：解行集（戏曲民俗论文选）》分上下两编。上编收录了作者近年发表的关于梨园行会碑刻文献、戏曲表演文献的全新研究成果，从国家语言政策、经济文化制度变迁、戏曲班社管理、戏曲文献著录等角度，细腻地考证和论述了从十八世纪以来昆曲、京剧及地方戏曲艺术的发展演变规律，将微观的文献考察与田野调查实践相结合，侧重于舞台艺术规律的阐扬和揭示。下编以民俗生态视角契入对戏曲的研究，或考证民俗方言的文化背景，考察民间故事与信仰的关系；或探索民俗活动的宗教内涵，忠实记录民俗行为的心理和情感动机；或综合研究民俗演剧的特质与细节的区别，并对戏曲艺术遗产的当代命运进行关注。
