Each spring, seventeen-year-old storm chaser April hunts down the most sculpted supercells and photogenic tornadoes. Since losing her parents and younger sister to the natural phenomenon she loves so much, April doesn't just chase to catch the tornadoes, but to drown out the grief. Refusing to accept her new reality, she pushes away the only family member she has left: aunt Tammy.

Sick and tired of her best not being good enough for her perpetually drunk parents, sixteen-year-old Flower takes matters into her own hands and runs away. Saved by April from a tornado in the nick of time, Flower joins her storm chasing hunt to catch the break she so desperately needs.

But as April and Flower start healing from their pasts and find love with each other, a severe weather outbreak sends unprecedented storms towards both their families, and the girls must put their lives at risk if they want to save them.
