To know your enemy, you must become your enemy. That's what that Sun Tzu guy said.
I didn't expect to stay more than one semester at Redcrosse Academy, and I said as much to my Aunt Rose so. This British boarding school has been around pretty much forever. It's so old, they still teach combat with medieval weapons. I can also take credits in martial arts, fencing, and weight training, along with the regular academic stuff. So that's cool.
Even though the school includes Fae and supernatural students, in addition to humans, I've still wound up liking it. So, Aunt Rose was right about that. But if I sound like a hater, I have a good reason.
Ten years ago, a Fae sorcerer killed my parents, stole my twin sister, and I couldn't do a thing to stop him. I don't intend to become one of them, like S.T. says, but as I get to know the Fae, I've realized it's like anything else-you can't judge the whole group because of one jerk. I've even become good friends with a few Fae.
My best friend Alicia says I need to get a life and socialize more. But she doesn't have problems like I do. That Fae Sorcerer? Turns out he's a completionist. It's my birthday next week and apparently, he wants my blood. All of it.
He really knows how to pick his moments because I just met a really nice guy...
