In the gleaming mega-city of United America, John Mason is a glitch in the system. While the rest of society embraces mandated perfection and tranquility lattes with seaweed foam and a dash of seroton, John just wants to be left alone.

He spends his days scrubbing the massive windows of high-rises and his nights staring at a corkboard of cold leads, obsessed with finding his sister, Lily, who vanished through the cracks of "paradise" five years ago.

When a grief-fueled, alcohol-induced snap gets him banished from civilization, John is dumped into the desert to rot in Trash Town: a sprawling, chaotic city built literally from the garbage of the new world. Most would call it rock bottom. For John, it's the first time he's felt at peace in years.

He settles into a life of odd jobs and scavenging to pay his refreshingly cheap rent-until one morning, a crispy merchant interrupts his breakfast and changes everything. Now, he's on a high-stakes, chaotic mission to save his new home from a shadowy organization with a terrifying agenda.

And he's not alone.

Joined by Twiggy, a hyperactive, snack-obsessed scavenger, and JUB, a glitchy helper bot with a spatula for an arm and a murderous vendetta against pigeons, John must navigate a landscape of absolute absurdity. Together, they'll dodge biological nightmares, commit grand theft burro, and wade through far too much sludge to save the only place that's ever felt like home.
