After graduating from Fresno State with a degree in education and a teaching credential, Lela Folkers soon faced a spiritual challenge that demanded a decision. Would she commit her life to God's service or choose another path? She accepted the challenge to live with His guidance and follow His path. Although the path has not always been straight, easy, or full of rewards, Lela has come to know that God walks beside her through every bright or dark place.
In an inspirational retelling of her life story, Lela chronicles her experiences as a child of God who traveled the world during four decades of service. While sharing a glimpse into her journey as she moved from India to the exotic islands of the South Pacific and Stepps of Mongolia-all while feeling God's constant presence and protection-Lela also describes her other travels to and work in regions beyond that included time spent in Papua New Guinea, Puerto Rico, Australia, Germany, Spain, Barbados, Japan, China, and Uzbekistan.
