This Is Why I Hate Winter

PROLOGUE
It was a story that started long before the first page was written. A story of abuse, fear, and survival. A story that would change the lives of many, and leave deep scars that would never fully heal. It was a story of a young boy and his sisters, born into a world of violence and pain. They were forced to grow up too quickly, to face horrors that no child should ever have to endure.

Their mother, once a loving and caring woman, had become a shadow of her former self. Trapped in a cycle of abuse, she was powerless to protect her children from the man who had once promised to love and cherish her.
As the abuse grew worse, the children found solace in the animals that surrounded them and the art that filled their lives. But even that was not enough to shield them from the terror of their everyday existence.

The boy and his sisters would eventually find a way out, but the scars they carried with them would stay with them forever.
This is their story, a story of pain and survival, of love and hope. A story that must be told, so that others may understand the true cost of abuse and the strength it takes to overcome it.
