The Welcoming draws on documented research in infrasound exposure, sleep architecture, coercive persuasion, and depersonalization to construct a horror that is psychologically plausible and viscerally devastating. It is a novel about the distance between knowing what is happening to you and being able to stop it. About the things we build to hold ourselves together and what waits beneath them when we stop.
