Jamie Stokes has spent his whole life in Breakwater Beach. Theo Simms is supposed to be there for twelve weeks.
Jamie knows the waves, the locals, the shortcuts, and all the things that were better before tourists, vacation rentals, and change started reshaping the town he loves.
Theo arrives with a camera, completely inappropriate shoes for sand, and an assignment to photograph life along the coast. He isn't looking for a home. He definitely isn't looking for a reason to stay.
Jamie thinks Theo doesn't understand what he's photographing.
Theo thinks Jamie spends too much time looking backward.
A few surf lessons should settle the argument.
Instead, Theo learns to read the water. Jamie starts seeing his hometown through someone else's eyes. And somewhere between dawn sessions, parking-lot breakfasts, bad waves, good photographs, and twelve weeks that suddenly feel much too short, temporary starts becoming something neither man expected.
But Theo has a departure date.
Jamie has a life built around staying.
And falling in love doesn't automatically make either of those things easier.
The Waves Were Better Yesterday is a warm, sun-soaked MM contemporary romance about surfing, belonging, chosen family, the places we call home, and discovering that sometimes the best thing waiting beyond the break is the future you didn't plan for.
Book One in Out Past the Break. Each book features a complete LGBTQ+ romance with a happily-ever-after.
