The Silenced

Young lawyer Kate Rossi returns to her small hometown after her father has a stroke, unaware she's about to stumble into an ugly criminal conspiracy that's been operating beneath the peaceful surface of village life.

Kate never wanted to practice law with her father in their small hometown. Instead, still grieving the death of her mother, she landed a prestigious job with a corporate law firm in New York City. But when her father is hospitalized, she steps in to cover her father's court cases while he recovers, working from his small office in upstate New York.

Without any courtroom experience, she struggles to represent five-year-old Megan in a custody case, and 14-year-old Rose, an uncooperative teen who faces incarceration. Kate juggles her schedule between visiting her father in the hospital, flirting with an old friend, and covering court dates, anxious that her time away from the New York firm is jeopardizing her career.

Then she gets thrust into something sinister operating in her small town that's threatening both of her clients. She must figure out who is involved and how to protect her clients, before she too is silenced.
