The Severed Line

The line was built to endure. It was believed unbreakable.

In 1578, a monk blesses an army he fears is marching into ruin. Twenty thousand men kneel in Moroccan dust. At the front stands Sebastian, Portugal's young king, armored in certainty and watched by men who have mistaken devotion for command.
