Blazel ventures into the treacherous swamps to concoct a poison that could turn the tide. While grappling with being the Battle Commander's second, he and his Gryphon ally lead the charge against the alien menace.

Meanwhile, gentle healer Kaieli discovers a way to purge the nucla poison from the enslaved Posairs. Alongside Rolstrun, a fighter who finds courage and love amidst the horrors of captivity, she ignites a rebellion within the slave camp.

The Posairs and their Gryphon allies refuse to yield to the Scourge's subjugation and terror, valiantly fighting for freedom against the technologically superior Scourge.
