The Psychopompos & Other Poems

The Psychopompos and Other Poems is a contemporary poetry collection by Dolores de Alma Blanca that moves through thresholds of language, memory, and experience.

Drawing on the figure of the psychopompos-the guide between worlds-these poems dwell in moments of passage: between presence and absence, voice and silence, body and thought. The collection does not offer resolution or arrival, but attentive movement across unstable terrain, where meaning emerges through proximity rather than certainty.

Written in restrained, precise language, the poems explore transition, mediation, and the quiet labor of carrying what cannot be fully named. Identity remains fluid, time folds inward, and the self appears not as a fixed center but as a crossing point shaped by repetition, loss, and persistence.

The Psychopompos and Other Poems will resonate with readers of contemporary and experimental poetry who are drawn to work that engages liminality, philosophical inquiry, and the fragile architectures that hold inner and outer worlds together.

Dolores de Alma Blanca's other collections include The Poems of the Poet Laureate, Norwegian Salmon & Mayonnaise, Where Time Folds, and No Grime on My Soul.
