The Man Who Would Be King Charles III

Britain's Royal families have possessed every human characteristic from kindness and perceptive visionary to the lesser traits like pinchpenny, lecherous wastrel (some even worse than Prince Andrew!) and even cold-blooded murderer.

The Man Who Would Be King Charles III summarises every Royal bottom that's sat on the throne from William the Conqueror in 1066 through to Charles III. It is a tongue in cheek journey, in rhyming couplets, through Britain's last thousand years of Royals supported throughout with amusing illustrations.

If you thought history was dull at school, you need to read this book. For this is a factual work based on fiction - or is it fiction based on facts?! Either way, it will amuse you and might even trigger a deeper interest in learning more about British history.

This book also makes a timely gift with the coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as king and queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms.

Martin Killips was born in Malaysia and raised by monkeys for the first two years of his life. His primary carer was a female gibbon that bottle fed and later spoon fed him until his family returned to the UK briefly then moved to Northern Germany. Martin started primary school in Germany a month shy of being four and by the time he turned five he was a fluent reader. Consequently, when he returned to the UK and found his classmates learning the alphabet and sounding out words he chose to hide in the school library until he'd read every book. It was during these early years he fell in love with history and poetry. Martin has published six books, selling more than 50,000 of his last book series.

-Phillips Adams OAM (Social commentator, broadcaster, public intellectual and farmer)

"Killips' writings seem to take up where Milne left off, but are far more than pastiche. They're funny, ingenious and somewhat subversive. His illustrations are of a high order. In other words, Killips is a talent to be reckoned with."
