When the magic begins to fade, two children must journey into an enchanted forest to bring it back.
Oliver and Nora never expected an ordinary visit to their grandparents' house to lead them somewhere impossible. But when a mysterious blue glow appears beyond the garden, they follow it into a hidden forest filled with talking animals, strange creatures and more magic than they ever imagined.
At the heart of the forest lies the Magic Moon Pond, where the Moonstone has kept the woodland bright for generations. Now the Moonstone is missing, the pond is losing its glow, and shadows are beginning to creep into places they do not belong.
With the help of Wisp, a brave little rabbit, and a wonderfully unusual group of new friends, Oliver and Nora set off to find the missing stone. Their journey takes them through a maze of mischievous mushrooms, beneath the branches of the Whispering Willow and deep into the Valley of Shadows, where not everything is quite as frightening as it first appears.
But somewhere in the forest, Mortle Rootveil is waiting.
Once a guardian himself, Mortle believes the shadows have been forgotten for far too long. And as Oliver and Nora get closer to the truth, they begin to realise that saving the Magic Moon Pond may not be as simple as defeating a villain. Perhaps the forest does not need all its darkness to disappear. Perhaps light and shadow were always meant to exist together.
Filled with humour, friendship, adventure and woodland magic, The Magic Moon Pond is a warm-hearted middle-grade fantasy about courage, understanding, teamwork and discovering that even the darkest places can hold a little light.
Perfect for readers aged approximately 7-11 who enjoy magical forests, talking animals, mysterious quests and stories where ordinary children discover extraordinary worlds.
