Sometime in the late 2000s (specifically, between 2008 and 2009), twenty-something Stuart Glibly moves to Echo Park from a small town in Georgia after taking up his childhood friends, the Hammond brothers (Will and Jason), on their offer for him to crash at their house.
As he falls down the rabbit hole of "the scene" in Echo Park at that time, he finds himself under the spell of the neighborhood's local it girl, Isla Monrovia. Known for sleeping with every musician within a ten-mile radius (no matter how shitty their band is), Isla's defenses seem to wear down when she lets Stuart into her life/vagina, causing a gradual, but inevitable schism in their friend group.
