The Ghost Of The Iron Road

A century-old secret. A race across three continents. And a machine the world was never meant to see.

Siberia, 1918. As the Russian Empire collapses and Bolshevik forces close in, Imperial engineer Mikhail Sokolov makes a desperate choice. Rather than let an armored train - and its classified cargo - fall into revolutionary hands, he rides it into a frozen lake and seals the tunnel behind him. The train, the gold, and Experiment 737 vanish beneath the ice.

The Ural Mountains, present day. A record heatwave causes a glacial lake to recede - and reveals an ornate smokestack jutting from the silt. The Ghost of the Iron Road has surfaced.

Cole "Mac" Macallister is a former Formula 1 chief engineer who reads machines the way other people read faces. His wife, Dr. Mercer Macallister, is a forensic historian and former Smithsonian archivist who speaks seven languages and has never met a locked door she couldn't find a way through. Together, from their base at The Foundry - a converted 1920s powerhouse on the Savannah waterfront - they track down the world's lost technology.

Experiment 737 is the discovery of a lifetime: a fully functional electromagnetic propulsion system designed in secret by Nikola Tesla and Russian physicist Boris Volkov. Technology a century ahead of its time. Technology that could reshape transportation, energy, and military power in a single afternoon.

Albert Sterling already knows it exists.

The CEO of Apex Heritage Holdings doesn't restore history - he strips it for parts. With private military contractors, a global intelligence network, and unlimited capital at his disposal, Sterling has been moving on the Tesla-Volkov technology for weeks. The Macallisters are late to the race - outgunned, outmaneuvered, and operating deep in Russian territory with no official cover.

What they have is each other, a restored 1958 flying boat that Mac rebuilt from the crankshafts up, and the growing realization that Experiment 737 isn't one machine. It's five - scattered in hidden locations from the Ural Mountains to the Russian Pacific coast. And Sterling intends to find every one of them before Mac and Mercer can document a single page.

The Ghost of the Iron Road is the first novel in The Macallister Files, a globe-trotting adventure series featuring the most compelling couple in the genre - a husband and wife who are equally dangerous in a tunnel, a boardroom, or a cockpit.

Perfect for fans of Clive Cussler, Steve Berry, James Rollins, and Daniel Silva.

"The kind of adventure fiction that reminds you why you fell in love with the genre - cinematic, intelligent, and impossible to put down."
