Future of Governance in Space

Who is responsible if one of the nearly 6,000 satellites circling our planet malfunctions and causes damage? What law governs an individual's, company's, or government's actions in space? How can we ensure Earth's safety as we venture farther out into the universe?

These are just a few of the questions answered in The Future of Governance in Space. From the satellites that power our communications to the exploration of the final frontier, the intersection of space and technology has never been more important. Yet not every situation is covered by current law, and there are many legal issues the world will need to work out sooner rather than later.

In this book, you will learn:

• The origins of international space law
• How other areas of law have influenced current space legislation
• How space law affects everything in your life, from communication to technology
• Why more action concerning space governance is essential

In The Future of Governance in Space, author Lauren Peterson illustrates the challenges the future holds for legal issues in space, and why more definitive legislation is needed to preserve our technological future. If you love space, technology, or imagining how the future will look, you'll love this book.
