The Fifolet

This Cajun Will of Wisp tale begins, "Deep in the swamp under the pale moon light there is a Cajun legend that will give you a fright. Through the cypress trees and beards of Spanish moss, there is a fire sprite that you never want to cross. It will tease and coax you, and call you near, but all the Cajuns know that you better beware."

Jean-Paul Pierre fishes in Atchafalaya from sunrise to sunset, and he loves nothing more than nets bursting with fish and bushels overflowing with crabs. Mounds of fresh seafood cannot keep greedy Jean-Paul from wanting more. However, once he sees the illusive fire sprite, his thoughts turn to buried treasure. Following the dancing fire sprite, Jean-Paul Pierre hopes to find riches beyond belief. This is where the story of the Fifolet begins, but for Jean-Paul, the tale never ends.
