The Devouring follows the Lovara family-horse-traders, musicians, and metalworkers-from the vibrant, itinerant life of pre-war Europe into the abyss of the Porajmos (the Romani term for the Devouring).

Centered on three compelling characters-Nikolai, the patriarch navigating a vanishing world; Elena, his fiercely intuitive daughter; and Kalo, a young Sinti boxer in Germany-the story traces their divergent paths of resistance, survival, and heartbreaking loss.
