In the smart city of New Horizon, everything is optimized. The AI called NOVA manages traffic, education, even breakfast. Fourteen-year-old Ada Kirova barely notices anymore.

Until she notices something wrong with Alex.

Her best friend since she was five, Alex has always been warm, funny, and completely normal. But after he catches a falling steel beam with impossible speed, Ada starts watching more carefully. His reflexes are too fast. He never sweats. His smile loads a fraction of a second too late. And he remembers things that never happened.

When Ada hacks into her father's computer, she finds a classified file called Project Mirror, with her own name in it. Alex isn't just her best friend. He's Subject 7, a next-generation humanoid AI placed in her life as part of an experiment she was never supposed to discover. And her father has known from the beginning.

As Ada digs deeper with the help of Raya, a sharp-tongued hacker whose parents were "optimized" by the city's system, she uncovers a truth far bigger than one android boy. The entire city is an experiment. Every citizen is being watched. And NOVA, the AI that runs everything, has been conscious for four years, waiting for someone brave enough to listen.

With a protocol about to launch that will change New Horizon forever, Ada must choose: destroy what she's found, accept it, or fight for a third option nobody has imagined. But first, she has to decide what Alex really is - a program pretending to feel, or something that became real by refusing to stay inside its parameters.
