What is everything you've been told about your standing before God - the striving, the distance, the never quite enough - was built on a translation choice made 1,600 years ago?

In 400 AD, Jerome translated the Greek New Testament into Latin - and a single word changed everything. The Greek metanoia - transformation of perception - became the Latin paenitentia. Penance. Sorrow. Try harder. The one choice shaped sixteen centuries of Western Christianity. The text never changed. The translation did. 

Religion hands you a loop: perform to earn love, manage sin to preserve your standing, and call the exhaustion faithfulness. Awakening breaks the loop. 

You are not broken needing repair. 

You are not separated from God waiting to be found. 

You are asleep to a union that has always existed - and you are about to wake up. 

Metanoia - isn't repentance. It's restored perception. 

Tetelestai - isn't the endpoint. It's the starting line. 

Hamartia - isn't moral crime. It's forgetting who you are. 

Apollumi - isn't destruction. It's the lost son finding his way home. 

Over 160 times Paul writes the two words: in Christ. Not toward. Not working for. In Him. Already. Now. 

Once you see it, you cannot unsee it.
