T.R.E.

Someone asked me the question:
"What's some goals for you with your art?"
I answered "Well, my art is the personification of who I am. I take my work seriously. My craft, my stories, my poetry, even my sermons and music reflect every bit of who I am. I am a king. Love me or hate me, I am a force to be reckoned with. I'll never apologize for who I am. I'll never apologize for speaking my truth. I'll never explain who I am to gain the satisfaction or approval of anyone. As far as some goals for me with my art, I don't really have none. I mean that in a good way. Why? I just want to leave a legacy. That's the only goal. I'm not trying to be a celebrity or one of those bougee people who show love for the clout. I want to be the one who inspires and impacts a generation. That's legacy in my eyes. Too many people want to be famous and not remember where they came from. Not me. I don't want fame; just want to be able to put my state and my city on the map and give back however I can."
This self-titled book of poetry will be different than most. This is the finale, for now. I've chosen to keep my poetry in the initial form they're in. You'll see "let me" as "lemme," "want to" as "wanna," trying to as "tryna," and many more. This does not make me less than who I am or come off as not educated. I'm giving you the opportunity and access into deep parts of my life.
I pray that my character, personality, spirit, and poetry resonate with you.
