If Portnoy's Complaint and Superbad had their fertilized embryo implanted in Shalom Auslander's fertile uterus, the resulting abomination would be SYNAGGOGLES.


Suburban New Jersey, 1996.

After rediscovering his Judaism, Duv, the weed dealer at his Jewish high school, enlists the help of his best friends, Yoni, Ari, and Shoshana, to pick up a shipment for him after his supplier reschedules the transaction for the sabbath-Duv can't (won't) drive on shabbat, but his friends will. The friends reluctantly agree, but despite assurances from Duv that it will be a straightforward exchange of cash for marijuana, the deal goes south when our crew gets strong-armed into buying ecstasy instead.

All hell breaks loose when the friends run a stop sign and ignite a police chase. They manage to evade the cops, toss the stash, and ditch the car. But too scared to use Yoni's car again, the friends have to beg their ill-tempered buddy, Reagan, to drive them around as they embark on a weekend-long odyssey to recover the lost stash or recoup the money. All the while, Yoni, who's been cheating on the love of his life, tries to salvage his relationship, they have to attend Ari's cousin's bar-mitzvah, and Shoshana has to re-take the SAT.
