Surviving Her Silence is a story of a young Black African American Woman's resilience and perseverance through colorism, inferiority complex, self-doubt, and Domestic Violence. From childhood, Shante' knew that she was different with sweaty hands and the ability to dream dreams and see things that others could not. Shante' felt like she did not fit in with family or friends.When she experienced colorism one day while playing with a classmate on the playground, Shante's inferiority complex grew in silence from that day forward. Her self-doubt grew with little to no confidence. She did not understand her self-worth from childhood growing into adulthood.Shante' genuinely shows love with no agenda behind it, but she could also be a little naive when it comes to being a good judge of character. Leading her to attract a wolf in sheep's clothing, a wolf that would try to break her and bring all those silent vulnerable feelings to the surface.With words that left bruises that were worse than a punch to the face ever would, Shante' turned to GOD for guidance and GOD covered her. Strength kept her from giving up and newfound courage in her voice opened doors that only silence could keep shut.Surviving Domestic Violence was the key to opening the door to SURVIVING HER SILENCE.
