Surrender

Pat Boyd was the local real estate agent in Hope Springs. The Lord had laid it on her heart several years ago to build rental housing so people would have a place to live. She realized it again when Dr. Miranda Webster first came to Hope Springs looking for a place to open a medical practice and there was no place for her to stay. There was no place for young people who were graduating high school to live if they wanted to stay and work in Hope Springs either. So, purchasing the campground to build apartments was what the Lord was leading her to do.
She had felt the leading of the Lord for some time to purchase Blue Springs Campground, but true to form, Pat rebelled. She wasn't one to jump into anything without much deliberation and was prone to procrastinate. To be honest, she was so rebellious that most of the time, God had pulled the rug out from under her to get her to move in the direction He wanted her to go.
It wasn't until after her house burned down that she knew what she had to do. First, she had to surrender completely to God. To follow His guidance at the first urging, not until after it was too late. She had to find a way to change old habits and learn to trust God in all things and not lean on her own limited understanding.
William Jones, one of the owners of Jones Construction Company, was hired by Pat to work on the rental housing project. He was a Christian, a true man of God and he followed God's leading in all areas of his life. So, when Pat contacted him to work on building rental property in Hope Springs, he knew it was something God wanted him to do. He knew exactly what Pat's house; cabins and the hotel should look like. He was excited to get started on drawing the plans, which surprised him because he seemed to have lost his zeal for the business. It had become boring and mundane. He found himself not getting excited about any new projects and had seriously thought about taking an early retirement. Until this project, God's project.
