Written in the summer of 2021, Summertide is a collection of poems examining everything that makes us human from a multitude of perspectives. The expanse of topics in this collection is vast: Religious invocation defines "A Message to the Lord" and "Favorites," while explorations of other worlds takes over in "Conquer" and "Patrons to the Stars." Frustration and lack of direction--aimed at ourselves and at the world--find their way into "Upstairs" and "The Act of Seeing." Meanwhile, love rises above all else in "Absolute" and "Against Evening Starshine." And, against all odds, hope and determination coalesce in "YSSA" and "Ultimatum."
This collection is meant to be explored by you, the reader. While every poem has a definite purpose, only you can parse out what that is. Consider this a roadmap, ready to be explored in whatever way you deem best.
