Studies on the Effect of Taegro

The study included: seed treatment with taegro (4g/kg), seedling dip with taegro solution (4g/l), both seed treatment with taegro (4g/kg) and soil drenching (250g/ha), both seedling dip with taegro (4g/l) and soil drenching (500g/ha), both soil drenching and foliar spray with taegro at 250g/ha and both soil drenching and foliar spray with taegro at 500g/ha, mancozeb @ 2g/l as standard fungicide and untreated control. The maximum plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, fresh weight of leaves and total fresh weight per plant and dry weight of leaves per plant were observed in the treatment of both soil drenching and foliar spray by taegro @ 500 g/ha, besides recording maximum number of clusters per plant, flowers per cluster and fruits per cluster. The yield characters viz., number of fruits per plant, fruit set percentage, yield per plant, per plot, and per hectare and cost: benefit ratio were higher in standard chemical control by mancozeb (2 g/l), which has also resulted in least Per cent Disease Index of Alternaria solanii and Phytophthora infestans at both 65 DAT and 90 DAT.
