Summary:

Marcus Ward just wants to start over.

After serving a decade in prison for a crime that shattered his life, Marcus earns early release for good behavior and a promise to rebuild. He's placed in a work program through Stoneway Construction, a corporation praised for giving ex-convicts "a second chance." On the surface, it's honest work-long days on highway crews, sweat, grit, and a steady paycheck.

But as Marcus adjusts to life on the outside, something about Stoneway doesn't add up. The men who work beside him-other parolees-keep disappearing. No warnings, no farewells, no records. Management brushes off questions, and even Marcus's parole officer tells him not to dig too deep.

Haunted by memories of the system that caged him, Marcus begins to investigate on his own. What he uncovers is a network far darker than he imagined: a corporate machine that's turned prison labor into a commodity, erasing those who get too close to the truth.

When he crosses paths with Rosa Delgado, a fellow worker carrying secrets of her own, their shared search for answers turns into a fight for survival. Together, they race to expose the conspiracy buried beneath the highways they've helped build-before they become the next ones to vanish.

As the walls close in, Marcus must confront not only Stoneway's corruption but his own identity-deciding whether redemption means escape, revenge, or the courage to stand and face what's been buried all along.
