Statesided is a black comedy detailing one British tourist's accidental involvement in an apocalyptic cult. Set in Massachusetts, Chicago and just about everywhere in between, the book provides an account of the crazier aspects of life in America, all through the eyes of one bewildered outsider.
Luke 'Kent' Henderson had been looking forward to his US vacation for months, putting all his savings in what he hoped would be the trip of a lifetime. One chance conversation with a stranger in a bar, however, turned his trip on his head; rather than sun, sea and relaxation, he was instead thrust into a manic (and often ridiculous) fight for his life.
As Kent attempts to navigate his way through a sea of conspiracy theorists and eco-terrorists (not to mention cops) he gets to see a slice of American life that few other tourists experience.
