Starting Blocks

Starting blocks are wedges that go under a runner's feet, so all the runner's momentum pushes them towards the finish line. Similarly, this book was written to give readers the knowledge and tools needed for a good start following Jesus. Often new and growing believers are not taught how to develop a robust Biblical worldview or a deep and meaningful spiritual life, so Starting Blocks was written to do just that. The book begins by exploring worldview, how to read and understand the Bible, the foundational theological teachings of the Bible, and the history of Jesus' followers and the movement that He started. Once the stage is set, the focus of the book turns to spiritual practices that help believers develop a meaningful relationship with God and other believers. Important practices that are explored include worship, sacraments, and holy days, the importance of community, and leadership and teaching. Lastly, readers will discover the mission that Jesus gave His followers, their role in this mission, and God's ultimate mission of restoration.
