This volume contains the proceedings of the seventh annual conference on software engineering and training, sponsored by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), held in Texasin January 1994. The conference is also held in cooperation with the Association for Computing Machinery and the IEEEComputer Society. The volume includes refereed papers froman international group of software engineering educators, along with reports from the SEI, panel discussions, and contributions by invited speakers. Several papers focus onthe theme of the 1994 conference: putting the engineering into software engineering. These papers address various aspects of applying the principles and methods of traditional engineering disciplines to software engineering.
