Months after arriving in the RPG-like fantasy realm of Crucible, Gideon "Gids" Trent has settled into his new life as an adventurer, Beastmaster, and Champion of the god Sobek. Together with Lyra Far'Near, Kono Redclaw, and Vaingloria Black, he's fought ancient evils, unraveled sinister conspiracies, and led a revolution against tyranny.

Now, however, Sobek has come calling. The god has made a bet with two other deities about whose Champion can conquer a Dungeon first. And to make things more complicated, the Dungeon in question is the Dragon Lord's Temple: one of the deadliest and most dangerous Dungeons in all the world!

So now the ScaleGuard needs to fight through countless threats and outwit devious puzzles so they can reach the end of the Dungeon before the Thunderstrikers, led by the Champion of Thor, or the Sky Gazers, led by the Champion of Amaterasu.
