Sarah Rose's husband comes home drunk and angry once again. He lunges to grab Sarah Rose and falls down the cellar stairs breaking his neck. When they finally arrive in Lacon, Sarah Rose must deal with her brother and his wife insisting she marry a brother-in-law, the sheriff.
