Robotics and Automation

Robotics and Automation is a core subject in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, and Industrial Engineering programmes, and is closely integrated with Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), CAD/CAM, Finite Element Methods (FEM), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). It is regarded as one of the more challenging courses in the curricula of VTU, JNTU, and many other Indian universities due to its extensive use of matrix algebra, coordinate transformations, and manipulator kinematics.While students often understand the basic concepts and terminology, many find it difficult to master the mathematical techniques required to analyse robot motion and solve examination problems with confidence.
