Return to the Rain

Return to the Rain is an inspiring example of facing difficult times and disappointment by holding onto hope and believing in the future.

When Cassie and her husband, Luis, travel from the US to the Monarch Biosphere in Mexico in early 2020, they're unaware of how much their lives are about to change. While removed from the rest of the world on the remote mountaintop, they get word of an unfolding pandemic and assume they're beyond its reach, but all too soon, members of their family are contracting the deadly Covid virus.

Detained in Mexico, Cassie longs to return to the US to rejoin her young daughter as cities go into lockdown. Some countries, including Mexico, have decreed no incoming or outgoing travel and Cassie is forced to wait to return home.

In the meantime, Cassie's adoptive mom, Tully, falls in love with Cassie's biological father, Robert, while visiting the butterfly sanctuary. Robert harbors a secret from his past that will impact Tully and Cassie. As Tully and Robert are isolated on the mountain, time will tell if they have a future together.
