Remington Morris had been sheltered and taken care of by her loving father her entire life. But when he dies unexpectedly, her life is turned upside down. When Remi goes from living in bliss with her father in Atlanta Georgia, to living in the trenches in Detroit Michigan with her deadbeat mother all hope is lost. Feeling as though she's all alone in the world, Remi falls into a deep depression. It isn't until she bumps into Royce Reece that she sees a glimmer of light in darkness that had been suffocating her for weeks.

Royce Reece is no stranger to the struggle. He's been in it all of his life. But he's determined to make it out, and with his nephew Kayden right by his side. Royce goes from selling weed on the corner, to making hundreds of thousands of dollars in the crack game. His relentless grind to the top leaves him with very little room for love. That is, until he finds himself falling for Remi.

The somewhat likely, but unlikely duo ends up falling in love rather quickly. When things out of their control is thrown their way, the certainty of their future together is threatened. At the end of it all, will their thriving relationship survive? Or will their love story come to an end, in turmoil and tragedy?
