Kamala has been through a lot these past few years. Serving in the Army as a combat medic, getting married, and then having a child within months of her husband dying in war - she struggles for a few years to find her fit in life after the trauma she has endured. Eventually, with her four-year-old daughter in tow, she takes the plunge to follow her childhood dreams of becoming a published author. Kam follows her heart, taking a leap of faith, and moves up to Kennebunkport, Maine from a small town in Texas; Kam begins working as an editor's assistant at a publishing company to get her feet wet in the publishing world - before she even has time to realize it though, her world has changed completely. Kam falls head over heels in love with a man that she should not love at all. It is romantic, sexy, and thrilling... until it just isn't anymore. Kam is shown to be naïve, gracious and too trusting throughout this story. Rian on the other hand, through his alluring smile and devlish-like charm proved to be more than the meets the eye. When Rian is put in the hot seat, Kam must learn the strength behind remaining still and waiting for things to play out for themselves - even when she wants to take all the responsibility on her own shoulders. Eventually, she finds the motivation to write her first book... on the story she was required to remain silent on. Rian hid the truth from so many people and tried to drag Kam down with him. She refuses to be just a casualty in the war, but also refuses to retaliate. So, she writes. It is a healthy coping mechanism. She only publishes the story to show what love can be, and to show the strength of being able to walk a better path with faith that she will no longer be a victim to sexual harassment in the workplace. The resiliency of Kam is remarkable. The ego of Rian is too big for one person. Rian has an inner struggle that he just cannot seem to comes to terms with, and Kam just wants the best for him.
