A priest is found mutilated inside a Detroit church. No blood at the points of dismemberment. No motive. No weapon known to forensic science.

Detectives Leland Jamo and Randy Brecken catch the case expecting the worst the city can throw at them. What they find is something else entirely - a young woman named Christy Harris, daughter of a sitting U.S. Senator, who claims a figure with burning golden eyes has been following and protecting her since childhood. A figure that kills anyone who threatens her.

As the investigation pulls Jamo deeper into a world of secret rituals, ancient bloodlines, and institutional power operating centuries beyond the reach of any badge, he begins to understand that the murders are not random acts of violence. They are consequences - the end stage of a hundred-year supernatural binding that has chained a good man's soul to a demonic weapon, controlled by a cult that has been hunting one family's bloodline for fifteen centuries.
