Reading Two Books

Two Books--Some have said that there are two great books that tell of God: the Bible and Nature. To men like Sir Isaac Newton the two books seemed in harmony. Today the modern understanding of science seems to require that the Bible must be reinterpreted in the light of scientific advancements. Now the content of the Book of Nature, specifically as it relates to the origin of the universe and life, as put forth by the majority of scientists in the academic environs, appears to be in conflict with what the Bible says. This book is not written for the scientific establishment, but for "people of the Word" who confess to believe and accept the Bible, many of whom are confused by the conflict between the Bible and science. It presents alternative scientific explanations for these major questions: •How old are the universe and the earth, and how do we know that? •What is the source of life?•Are there alternative explanations that are scientifically accurate and Biblically sound? These questions are answered in answered in fairly simple and honest manner. Like Sir Isaac Newton, the author is both a lifelong scientist, believer and teacher of the Bible.
