PROXIMITY is a collection of lesbian short stories by award-winning author Christian Pan.

These stories examine various forms of intimacy and sexual relationships between queer women. A flirtation between two colleagues at a dance company suddenly becomes more, a fantasy to explore same-sex desire while on a holiday is finally consummated, two old friends blur the lines between sex and money - in some ways, the women in each story relate to one another, each tale connecting with the other in subtle and more explicit ways. Whether in the costume room of a Nevada dance company or on the streets of New York City, these queer women examine similar subjects: body image, confidence, prioritizing one´s own desire over that of men, and doing whatever one needs to do to make ends meet in an inequitable world. In such a complicated and layered world, how can we find pleasure within ourselves and with others?
