In response to the question "What's it matter?" the answer is "Everything!"
The future is always at risk because of what we as humanity do and do not do. The future in which we live starts today and continues with each and every decision that we make. Good or bad, these choices and decisions add up to the summation of our environment here on Earth in both physical, social, and virtual viewpoints.
When someone makes a 'good' choice, we are blessed. But when poor and self-serving choices are selected, we may all suffer.
