Phaino

The light of God is already inside you. It has always been there. Phaino is a year of daily meditations drawn from an uncommonly wide Christian canon - the four Gospels, 1 John, 2 John, Jude, Revelation, and the ancient contemplative texts recovered at Nag Hammadi: the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Mary, the Apocryphon of John, and the Sophia of Jesus Christ. Each of the 365 entries is a short reflection - 100 to 200 words - meant to be read slowly. One a day, for a year. Something to sit with over coffee. Something to read aloud to someone you love. Something to return to on a hard day. The theology is simple and whole. God is light. The light lives in every person, everywhere, always. It cannot be broken, earned, or lost. The work of the spiritual life is not to reach the light or earn it. The work is to remember what has been here the whole time. What readers will find inside:
